Writing 101, Day Seventeen: Fear!

“No man is rich enough to buy back his past.” – Oscar Wilde

My real concern is ‘Present’ that is going to become my ‘Past’ tomorrow.

I always feel like every passing day hasn’t been put to use the way it should.

The cognizance whenever skills are neither utilized nor honed keeps me keen.

Each day opens a door to a unique performance; excellence if you will,

That’s what I repeat while going to sleep every night to cheer up my heart!

“Well said Megha!” She couldn’t make out if he was being sarcastic, when Ameya said this.

She had just mentioned about a letter found in the drawer while she was clearing off old unwanted things.

She took his hands in her slender hands and said, “I had promised to you about living & dying together in this letter then. Today this being of little relevance, I feel we should trash this letter. If it’s time for me, I need to leave and you need to still live. The world will still be a beautiful place and you need to move on!”

“Yeah… I need to…”

Beauty!

The lake was silent for some time. Finally, it said:

“I weep for Narcissus, but I never noticed that Narcissus was beautiful. I weep because, each time he knelt beside my banks, I could see, in the depths of his eyes, my own beauty reflected.”

– The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho

One of my favorite books…
